Cannabis infused, bloomed chive & thyme butter with Blue Cheese Terps is the perfect finishing touch to your steak, sauces, potatoes, garlic breads and more!
Need:
16-24oz wide mouth mason jar with lid and ring
cheese cloth
pot for water bath
oven mits
rubber gloves
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup water
about half cup chive flowers
about 2 tablespoons thyme flowers
2 tablespoons, fresh thyme leaves
2 tablespoons fresh chive
7 grams roughly ground cannabis flower of choice- I used some Lavender in my fridge from my last summers harvest
Reserve to finish butter:
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
About 2 tablespoons each-
fresh chives (snipped)
chive flowers
fresh thyme leaves
thyme flowers
Add all ingredients (except reserved to finish) to mason jar, secure lid and ring. Place into water bath, ensuring contents are under water level. Bring water to boil, adjust heat to maintain low boil for 45 minutes- adding warm water to bath if needed. After 45 minutes, carefully remove mason jar from water bath. Let jar cool a few minutes before straining through cheese cloth. Wearing gloves, squeeze cheesecloth to get every last drop! Chill until set. A couple hours or overnight.
Once set, use a knife to loosen sides of butter so you can separate it from the water.
To finish butter: In bowl, add cannabis butter, 2 tablespoons each fresh chive (snipped), fresh thyme leaves, chive flowers and thyme flowers. Add an additions half cup butter and 2 to 3 drops of Blue Cheese terps from True Terpenes. Mix until incorporated.
Serve on potatoes, finish steaks and sauces or simply spread it on some toast!
You can use any edible flowers for this recipe- dandelions, nasturtium, etc.
